Gwen Stevenson is your average shy, put-upon nerdy girl working an office job with an abusive boss who repeatedly takes advantage of her. All that changed when she got the news that her favorite Aunt Gale passed away. With no expected help from the rest of her family, Gwen calls her other “Aunt” Connor to help deal with a particularly loathsome landlord.

Fabulous, secret powers were revealed to her the day she put on a pair of magical earrings and said “HOLY CRABAPPLES!”; becoming the Awkward Amazon!

Connor Greystoke

While Aunt Gale’s was a safe place for Gwen growing up, her unofficial “Aunt” Connor’s was her dream playground. Connor Greystoke owns The Quickening, a comics and collectibles shop that Gwen practically grew up in. She was a close friend of Gale’s, even living across the street above her shop. Such gal pals!

Connor has always been a friend and mentor to Gwen, and has always tried to give Gwen with reasonable and insightful life advice. That said, she also has a quick temper and seems to not really understand that one can’t wave a sword on the streets of Hamilton, ON.

Aunt Gale

Gwen’s childhood always had one safe place, and that was with her Aunt Gale. Growing up, Gwen’s parents never seemed to “get” her. Aunt Gale was the one to discover a brave, sensitive, caring, and creative little girl and chose to nurture that all through Gwen’s life.

The news of her Aunt’s abrupt and unexpected death shook her world, and the discovery of a pair of magic earrings reveals that Aunt Gale had an entire other life as an Amazonian protector of Dymmir. She chose to pass on the mantle of Voluptea’s Chosen One to Gwen because she believes in Gwen more than anybody.

Voluptea

Voluptea is the patron of the Amazons and a guardian spirit of protection, battle, and sexuality! One of many spirits in the mystical realm of Dymmir, she is the patron that empowers Gwen in her journey’s throughout as the Awkward Amazon.

An esoteric and mysterious entity, she is prone to not fully explaining herself nor used to having to. She exists to empower a mortal, so empower a mortal she shall. There are many such spirits in Dymmir, though not all are as benevolent or friendly...
